Faith Formation Ministries

RCIA TEAM MEMBER

RCIA team members are practicing Catholics who attend weekly RCIA sessions and accompany those who wish to become Catholic. Team members serve as role models, regularly talk with the participants of RCIA and offer support along their spiritual journey. Team members might also serve as presenters or facilitators of weekly sessions if they desire.

Contact:  Director of Faith Formation and Education, Shelagh Donoghue, [email protected].

Training Needed:  None

Time Commitment:  Meets on Thursday evenings from 7 – 8:30 pm, usually three weeks per month.  Attendance at each meeting preferred, but not required.

Duration of Commitment:  October to May

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CATECHIST/VOLUNTEER

Religious Education classes meet on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 am. We always need teachers for grades K-Confirmation to teach and aid in the spiritual growth of the students who attend Religious Education classes. You do not need to have a teaching degree or certificate to teach. Mentoring and workshops are available for those who are new to teaching Religious Education.

Our Religious Education program is always looking for volunteers to help with weekly classes, special events and classroom projects. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to help teachers out in the classrooms every Saturday. Adult volunteers are required to attend an Archdiocesan program on child safety.

Contact:  Director of Faith Formation and Education, Shelagh Donoghue, [email protected].

Training Needed:  Catechists and volunteers over age 18 must be Virtus trained
